BELLINGHAM, Wash. – An excessive heat warning for Whatcom County and most of Western Washington has been extended until 11 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday).

The National Weather Service is forecasting a record high of 100 degrees for Bellingham today.

That would smash the old record of 84 set in 1995.

Some of the hottest temperatures ever recorded in Western Washington are expected today.

Our high of 95 yesterday was also a record, beating the high of 87 recorded in 2015.

Seattle set a record for it’s hottest-ever June day with 101 degrees at Sea-Tac Airport on Saturday.

Residents are once again warned to avoid outdoor work or activities, take measures to stay cool and check on vulnerable people and pets.

WTA Station Downtown – 10 am to 6 pm today

North County Christ the King Church (Lynden) – noon to 8 pm today (free wifi).
