SPOKANE, Wash. – Agriculture cuts in President Trump’s budget proposal would, according to experts, have a devastating impact on Washington wheat exports.

The Trump administration is looking to slash conservation programs, food aid, crop insurance and trade programs that help sell American wheat to foreign buyers.

The Spokesman-Review reports times are already tough for Washington growers.

Many say they need about $6 per bushel to break even, yet prices have been hovering below $5 for months.
