REPUBLIC, Wash. (AP) — Former Republican candidate for governor Loren Culp has filed to challenge fellow Republican U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse in next year’s primary.
Newhouse was one of 10 members of the House GOP who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump following the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Culp lost badly to Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee but spent months after the November election claiming the outcome was rigged.
GOP state Rep. Brad Klippert has also announced he’ll challenge Newhouse in the conservative 4th District that covers much of central Washington.
