BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The release of 300-thousand farmed salmon prompted the Lummi Nation to declare a state of emergency.
The tribe and the State Department of Fish and Wildlife are telling anglers to catch as many of Atlantic salmon as possible.
Meanwhile, scientists are now saying the company’s explanation that high tides related to the eclipse caused the pen to fail doesn’t make sense.
They say the tides last weekend weren’t unusually high.
