BIRCH BAY, Wash. — A new federal grant will bolster tsunami preparedness along Washington’s coast with new sirens, evacuation signs and improved community awareness projects.

The latest siren was installed at Birch Bay last week and locations for an additional two sirens are still being considered.

The Emergency Management Division of the Washington Military Department says a tsunami siren test is scheduled for October 18.
