HOUSTON – Immigrants’ rights advocates filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security about what they say is the inhumane treatment of pregnant women in custody.

The American Civil Liberties Union and other groups are asking the department to investigate the cases of 10 women held at facilities in Washington, California, and Texas.

One of the women suffered a miscarriage while in custody and others say they didn’t receive adequate medical care.
