BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The 2017 Feed the Need Community Food Drive has ended.
While they didn’t quite reach their goal this time, an organizer says they’re very proud of the community.
Kim Sutton with Industrial Credit Union says the largest food drive in the area raised $126,000 and 10,000 pounds of food to support food banks across Whatcom County.
The final tally is a bit shy of the $150,000 goal, but Sutton considers this year another success, and says knowing a parent won’t have to worry about feeding their child tonight is the “ultimate reward.”
