OLYMPIA, Wash. — Ferry tickets could have a higher price tag come this October.
The Washington State Transportation Commission is proposing to increase ferry fares over the next two years, in order to generate $400 million in revenue for the recently passed two-year budget.
The commission’s proposal includes two ferry fare increases over the next two years and an increase in the current capital surcharge paid on each fare.
The first proposed 2.5% increase would take place October 1st.
Ferry users are invited to add their feedback to the various proposals here.
