CHENEY, Wash. – FEMA has approved a grant request by Washington State to assist in a Spokane County wildfire.
The Andrus Fire near Cheney was burning 300 acres and was not contained at all as of yesterday.
Another fire near East Wenatchee that threatens homes also continues to burn.
With aid from FEMA, the State will receive funds for 75% of eligible firefighting costs.
The cause of the fires is under investigation.
