FERNDALE, Wash. – After decades as a Ferndale mainstay, the Bob’s Burgers & Brew restaurant has closed.
Its last day was Sunday and locals who have frequented the spot for years had their last drink, before the restaurant quietly closed for the last time, with little forewarning or fanfare.
Mike Kildall has owned the Ferndale spot since the mid-80s when his brother, who had opened a Bob’s in Lynden, convinced him.
Mike’s brother went on to expand the chain.
Discover Ferndale reports Kildall thanked Ferndale and the community for their decades of patronage, then said, he “finally listened to that Kenny Rodgers song, “You got to know when to fold them.”‘
