FERNDALE, Wash. — Two adults and two children were hospitalized after their Whatcom County home became filled with carbon monoxide.
Fire District 7 Chief Ben Boyko says firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 6600 block of Church Road just before 2 AM on Monday and found two adults and two kids in distress.
They were transported to the hospital.
Two people in an upstairs unit weren’t affected but were evacuated.
Two dogs were also rescued with one needing oxygen on the scene.
Boyko says a faulty boiler is suspected to be the cause, and it’s a good reminder to keep functioning carbon monoxide detectors in your home.
