FERNDALE, Wash. – With Thanksgiving just a week away, many families get ready to cook their own meal. But others are wondering if they’ll have a meal at all.
Suzanne Nevan with the Ferndale Food Bank said the Food Bank is holding a fundraiser to give families in need a Thanksgiving dinner. “To help someone at Thanksgiving can be lifechanging,” Nevan said.
Nevan said Larry Hoffman with the local fire district has been a huge help in gathering turkeys over the years. The Ferndale Grocery Outlet and Chamber of Commerce are on board as well.
It’s not just turkey, but the fixings and even pies that local girl scout troops make themselves. “The number has steadily grown to over a hundred pies,” Nevan said.
The Food Bank is accepting money donations for the turkey drive through Friday at Ferndale Grocery Outlet, Ferndale Mini Mart, Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and Outlaws Saloon.
Food donations can still be brought to the food bank.
