FERNDALE, Wash. – A traffic change for downtown Ferndale.

The stoplights at First Avenue and Main Street are different.

“A flashing red, and a flashing yellow,” said City of Ferndale spokesman Riley Sweeney.

The signal shows a flashing yellow for Main Street traffic, which means proceed with caution, Sweeney explained.

First Avenue traffic gets a flashing red, which means come to a complete stop, then proceed when safe.

“We’re always looking to improve traffic flow through Main Street,” said Sweeney.

The City will study the intersection and decide whether to remove the traffic light entirely.
