FERNDALE, Wash. – A hit-and-run crash fueled by a road rage incident led to the arrest of a Ferndale man.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater says the victim was driving on Slater Road on Saturday afternoon, July 2nd, when he passed a car that was about to make a right-hand turn.

Instead of turning, the second vehicle followed the victim to the intersection at Lake Terrell Road.

After a verbal altercation, the suspect, 57-year-old Anthony Romero, hit the victim and sideswiped his car.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

Deputies located Romero at his home, where he admitted to hitting the victim’s car.

He claimed that he was unaware that he had struck the victim.
