BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Ferndale man is in jail after police say he was caught on video trying to siphon gas from cars at a Bellingham dealership.
Travis Wayne Strait was already in jail when he was charged in the October incident at The Autohaus on Iowa Street.
Police Lieutenant Claudia Murphy tells KOMO that Strait was seen on surveillance video breaking into the dealership and trying siphon gas out of three Range Rovers and a Chevy Silverado.
He caused about $6500 in damage to the vehicles and faces malicious mischief and theft charges.
