A man was arrested Monday after a weekend crime spree.
When Ferndale Police made contact with 31-year old William “Brocc” Whetter Monday, he refused to comply and fled into the bushes on the west side of I-5 near Smith Rd.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Washington State Patrol trooper stepped in to assist in containing the area, and a Bellingham Police K-9 unit tracked the suspect down, leading to his arrest.
Although details regarding the incidents leading to his charges have not been provided, Whetter has been charged with suspicion of the following crimes:
2nd degree burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, making/having burglary tools, possession of a dangerous weapon, 3rd degree theft, and 3rd degree possession of stolen property.
Whetter was out of custody on $10,000 bond at the time of the arrest.
As of August 3rd, Whetter remains in custody without bond pending an initial court appearance.
