FERNDALE, Wash. — The Ferndale School District announced a new program designed to encourage uniformed officers and first responders to spend more time on campus during the school day.

“Bite with a Buddy” provides free breakfasts and lunches for police, fire fighters, border patrol and other uniformed officers.

Superintendent Linda Quinn says the lunches are given by the district’s food service vendor Sodexo.

She says the program provides chances to build relationships.
