FERNDALE, Wash. – The student suspected of having a gun at Ferndale High School turned himself in Thursday morning, December 2nd.
Police also seized the weapon which has been confirmed to be a BB gun.
The student, who isn’t being publicly identified, has been released to the custody of his legal guardian.
He will likely face criminal charges and disciplinary action by the school district.
A snapchat video alerted school officials to the presence of a possible gun at the school on Wednesday, December 1st.
The Ferndale School District is emphasizing the importance of speaking up and grave consequences for students who bring weapons to campus or make threats, serious or not.
