PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. – After three people fall from a ferris wheel in Port Townsend, the company that owns it says the riders may have caused the accident themselves.
President of Oregon-based Funtastic Rides, Ron Burback, tells The Seattle Times ride operators had asked the three to stay seated while the ride was in motion.
Two women and a 7-year-old boy fell about 15 feet when the gondola they were in tipped over Thursday.
One woman was hospitalized with serious injuries, while the others were treated and released.
