BOW, Wash. — A fire lit up in the Bow Hill Road area Thursday evening burning roughly five acres of grass and lighter brush.

Around 7:30 P.M., witnesses reported seeing fire and heavy smoke from I-5.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports multiple fire districts and the state Department of Natural Resources responded to the fire and a spokeswoman says as of last night they had gotten the fire “down pretty good.”

DNR was expected to stay on scene through the night.

Despite the fire, air quality is still good throughout the area.
