Firework sales begin with heavy regulation in effect

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Firework sales begin statewide this Thursday.

The Washington State Fire Marshal is asking residents to know the laws before purchasing or using fireworks, and to check with your local jurisdiction to ensure a safe and fun celebration for the 4th of July.

Whatcom County laws vary. Within Bellingham city limits, sales and discharge of fireworks are banned.

But in other cities like Blaine, Everson, and Ferndale, each have different sales and discharge times, while Lynden, Nooksack, and Sumas follow State laws for sales and discharge times.
