OLYMPIA, Wash. — Over 300 fireworks-related incidents were reported to the Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office this year.

Of those incidents, the majority of them occurred between June 28 and July 5, when sales and discharge are legal in the state.

The majority of injuries were caused by individuals holding fireworks while they were lit or standing too close to fireworks once they were lit.
