BELLINGHAM, Wash. — It took eight years, but a fish habitat restoration project on Squalicum Creek is now complete.
The City of Bellingham says the “Willow Springs” restoration project wrapped up with a culvert replacement and an artificial pond that links an open channel to Squalicum Creek.
The project started with the construction of the Willow Spring channel as part of Squalicum Creek Park, creating about 1,000 feet of salmon rearing habitat as well as new wetland and forest areas.
