BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Eighty six crew members of a fishing trawler that stopped in Bellingham last week have tested positive for COVID-19 after one was dropped off for treatment at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital.
Seattle-based American Seafoods says in a news release that the entire crew was tested when the American Dynasty arrived in Seattle and 85 more tested positive.
Nine tests are still outstanding.
The company says the crew tested 100% negative before the ship left port.
The entire crew is quarantined and the company is cooperating with the Whatcom and King County health departments, the Coast Guard and the CDC.
