SEATTLE, Wash. – Alaska Airlines cancelled dozens of flights again Monday as a contract dispute with its pilots continues.
The airline says it cancelled 40 flights Monday after hundreds of flights from Anchorage to Los Angeles were scrubbed over the weekend.
The pilots say they’re underpaid and overworked and they want compensation similar to their peers at other airlines.
Alaska says they’re committed to an agreement that recognizes the contributions of their pilots and they’re working quickly to help impacted travelers get to their destinations.
KOMO reports that the pilots’ union is set to meet with a federal mediator tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5th.
The two sides have been in contract talks since 2019.
