WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – This third in a string of atmospheric rivers will keep a flood watch in effect for Whatcom County until Thursday, December 2nd, at 7 a.m.
Whatcom County Public Works says less precipitation is expected from this system but the region does not have any more capacity to store rainfall and more flooding is possible.
Landslides are another concern.
Anyone living or traveling through a slide-prone or steep area should be vigilant in watching for slides, which can occur during storms or even several days after rainfall has stopped.
National Guard personnel remain in the county to help with sandbagging and supply transportation.
They’re also watching some road closures to keep drivers from becoming stranded.
For updates on road closures around the county, visit the Whatcom County website.
