OLYMPIA, Wash. — Flu deaths in Washington state are way down compared to the prior three years.
As of September 5th, the most recent report available, at 36 weeks into the 2019-2020 flu season, 109 deaths were reported statewide due to the flu, compared with an average of 270 at this time over that past three years.
That’s a drop of almost 60%.
The state health department flu season reporting runs on an October- September cycle.
