BURLINGTON, Wash. – A cautionary tale if you haul stuff around that isn’t tied down.
The Washington State Patrol says Juan Morales of Burlington was driving east on Highway 20 near the Swinomish Casino Saturday when a piece of plywood flew out of his Nissan Pickup.
The wood hit a motorcycle driven by Earl McKinney of Oak Harbor.
McKinney’s passenger, Kathleen Aus, also of Oak Harbor had to be airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for her injuries.
Both riders were wearing helmets; Morales as charged with failure to secure load.
