BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A former pro football player who once ran fitness camps and youth football programs in Bellingham is accused of murdering his wife.

The Deseret News reports 28 year old Keri “KC” McClanahan was found dead of knife wounds in a Park City, Utah condo last Thursday.

Police call 46 year old Anthony McClanahan the “prime suspect” in his wife’s murder and prosecutors in Utah are seeking a no-bail warrant because they think he’s a flight risk.

The couple was married last January and Keri’s sister, Heather Gauf of Bellingham, told the AZFamily website that her sister told her she was the victim of domestic violence.

He then asked Keri to meet him there.

Keri leaves behind a young son and daughter.

Her family has started a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses and to support the children.

McClanahan played football for Washington State in the early 1990’s, then had a short stint with the Dallas Cowboys before playing in the Canadian Football League.
