BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Former Bellingham Police officer, Corporal Brooks Owen Laughlin, was found guilty Tuesday on multiple counts related to years of domestic violence against his wife and threats to kill her family.
A jury found Laughlin guilty on 9 counts including assault, felony harassment, stalking and violating a no-contact order.
Laughlin’s wife went to the Everson Police in March to report the abuse.
She told officers she and her family feared Laughlin would follow through with threats to kill them, and that his firearm and SWAT experience added to their concern.
Sentencing is set for November 28.
