KENT, Wash. (AP) — Police have arrested a suspect in the carjacking in Kent, Washington, that ended with the death of a 38-year-old man.
KOMO reports the suspect is a 23-year-old Kent man.
The suspect has been identified by sources as Gurkeerat Kainth, who has been under Department of Corrections community supervision since September 2017 after being convicted of two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle.
His supervision term was set to end on June 30.
Police say Jered Sperling jumped into the back of his pick-up to try to stop a carjacker from stealing it Monday night and was found dead in the truck Tuesday morning.
