SEATTLE, Wash. — A former Port Angeles naturopathic physician is accused of promoting a misbranded drug as a COVID-19 preventative.

The Department of Justice says 67-year-old Richard Marschall called himself a “health coach” and claimed a “Dynamic Duo” of substances could kill viruses including COVID-19.

FDA investigators purchased the drugs and found the original labels on the bottles did not claim to kill viruses, but Marschall included documents stating they could “crush” viruses, including COVID-19.

Marschall was previously convicted and sentenced for distributing mislabeled drugs in 2011 and 2017.
