BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A former member of the Western Washington University Track and Field team has been sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to raping a teammate.

Court records state the incident happened in May 2018, when a woman told police she and Brandon Pless were at an off-campus party following a track meet.

She said she had a lot to drink and eventually ended up in a basement bedroom with Pless.

Two friends found them undressed in the room and told officers that the woman was unconscious.

Pless admitted to having sex with her after she passed out.

She also told investigators that she didn’t give her consent.

Pless will serve three months of his sentence on work release.
