OLYMPIA, Wash. — Gas prices are holding steady and well above the national average.

GasBuddy reports this July 4th had the highest gas prices in four years.

Gasoline prices in Washington have risen in the past week for an average of $3.40 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, that’s 55 cents higher than the national average.

The head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy does not expect any significant relief soon.

Bellingham drivers are paying an average $3.48 a gallon according to AAA.
