PARIS (AP) — Play has been suspended for the day at the French Open because of rain.

Three men’s singles third-round matches were halted in progress. Four women’s singles matches never even got started.

In action earlier Saturday:

— Former top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki (wohz-nee-AK’-ee) prevailed over American teenager CiCi Bellis after resuming a match that was suspended Friday night. The 11th seed defeated the 18-year-old from California 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

— Top-ranked Andy Murray reached the fourth round, beating Juan Martin del Potro (wahn mar-TEEN’ dehl POHT’-roh) in a match that lasted nearly three hours. Murray got past the 29th-seeded del Potro 7-6, 7-5, 6-0.

— Third-seeded Simona Halep eased into the fourth round with a 6-0, 7-5 win against Daria Kasatkina.

— Former champion Stan Wawrinka (vah-VRINK’-ah) beat against Italian Fabio Fognini (FAH’-bee-oh fohn-YEE’-nee).

— Three French women have made it to the fourth round of the French Open for the first time since 1994.
