BELLINGHAM, Wash. – There doesn’t appear to be an end in sight to the rise in gas prices.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas nationwide has been breaking records every day for the past several weeks.
Most drivers are shelling out about $5.27 a gallon in Whatcom County.
It’s only slightly better than the state average of $5.31.
Nationally, the average is hovering around $4.76.
Some states, such as New York and Kentucky, have suspended their gas tax in an effort to ease the pain at the pump.
Governor Jay Inslee has not committed to following those states’ examples.
