OLYMPIA, Wash. — Hunters have two more days to hunt brant geese in Skagit County after the season was restricted the season to three days this year.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife says Wednesday, January 16 and Saturday, January 19 are the last scheduled days.

The waterfowl section manager says the reduced schedule is necessary after aerial bird counts indicated numbers fell short of the 6,000 birds required for a full eight-day brant hunting season.

This is the third restricted brant season in Skagit County in the past four years.
