OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington Governor Jay Inslee is directing all Washington and U.S. flags at state agencies be lowered Tuesday, July 31 in memory of the Kent Police Officer who was killed in action on July 22.
KING 5 reports 35-year-old Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno was struck by another officer who was chasing a suspect.
That suspect was charged with Moreno’s murder, though he did not hit Moreno.
A police car procession and public memorial service will be held in Kent today.
