BURIEN, Wash. (AP) — Governor Inslee proposed plans to fix Washington’s struggling mental health system.
Inslee unveiled budget and policy plans Tuesday that he says will change the system from being “crisis-based” to one that focuses on prevention by providing mental health care to more people.
Inslee says he wants to move mental health care away from large institutions to smaller community-based centers.
His written plan also calls for $56 million in funding for infrastructure at Western and Eastern state hospitals.
