BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Governor Inslee announced Tuesday nearly $1.5 million will be awarded to eighteen counties in Washington for programs designed to get kids outdoors.
Whatcom County will receive over $157,000 in grant money.
The No Child Left Inside program grants will be awarded by the State Parks and Recreation Commission and are meant to help at-risk youth.
All of the grant recipients will be matching the state funding in donations, equipment, labor, and other resources.
