Gov. Jay Inslee has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement, Insleeās office said he tested positive on a rapid antigen test and is experiencing mild symptoms.
He’s working from home and setting up antiviral treatments.
The governor is fully vaccinated and has received two COVID-19 booster shots.
The announcement comes as state health officials urge people to wear masks indoors as case counts steadily rise.
Washington is not returning to a broad mask mandate despite the increase in COVID-19 cases.
State Health Secretary Dr. Umair Shah says the pandemic is not over, and recommends getting vaccinated, boosted and masking in crowded places.
Masks are still required in hospitals, clinics, long term care and correctional facilities.
