OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Jay Inslee has signed a bill that creates a phased-in path toward full overtime pay for agricultural workers by 2024.
Next year farm workers will get overtime pay for time worked over 55 hours a week;
That goes down to 48 hours a week in 2023; and 40 hours by 2024.
Inslee noted at the signing that Washington has more than 30,000 farms that produce over 300 different commodities, many of them picked and processed by handby the state’s 200,000 agriculture workers.
