Grant money available to restart festivals and events in Washington state

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Festivals in Whatcom County could have some money coming their way.

The Washington State Department of Commerce has $3.5 million in funding available for festivals and events.

To be eligible, the events must have taken place for five years or more and must be held in communities with fewer than 100,000 residents.

The money is designed to help restart and stabilize festivals and events that were suspended during the pandemic.

The Commerce Department will accept grant applications between June 8th and July 1st.
