PUGET SOUND, Wash. (AP) — A group of Pacific gray whales has been spotted in the Puget Sound.
The group is known as the Sounders because they stop over in Puget Sound during their coastal migration.
As of Wednesday, at least four had been spotted.
Scientists with Cascadia Research Collective say they tend to congregate off Whidbey Island and feed on ghost shrimp.
The Sounders are regularly seen around Whidbey Island and in Skagit and Port Susan bays from March into June.
