SEATTLE, Wash. — The campaign of GOP gubernatorial candidate Loren Culp is suing Washington state and Secretary of State Kim Wyman.
KOMO News reports the lawsuit claims that Culp’s civil rights were violated during the election.
In a statement, the Culp for Governor campaign said: “Secretary Wyman either willfully or negligently allowed ballots to be placed in the hands of the dead, those who had moved out of state, non-US citizens, convicted felons, and failed to take steps to prevent people from receiving duplicate ballots.”
The lawsuit seeks an audit of votes cast in five Western Washington counties.
Official numbers show incumbent Gov. Jay Inslee won the election with 56.7% of the total vote, while Culp received 43.3%.
