LYNDEN, Wash. – If you’re driving south from Lynden, your commute is about to get a lot longer.
Starting Monday, the State Department of Transportation will shut down the Guide’s southbound lanes between River Road and Wiser Lake Road.
The closure will last from 4:00 a.m. Monday to 5:00 a.m. Friday as crews raise concrete and stabilize a bridge just south of the larger river bridge.
A detour will take drivers along Birch Bay Lynden Road.
People crossing the border into Lynden are urged to use a different port of entry.
