Health department reports six deaths in local COVID-19 outbreak

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — There’s been a COVID-19 outbreak at a nursing home in Bellingham.

The county health department has confirmed 39 cases among residents and staff associated with Highland Health and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility located on Samish Way.

23 of these cases are residents and 16 are staff members.

Since the outbreak began on September 18, six people have died from the disease.

All deaths were in people over age 70.
