BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Health Department reports six new cases but no new deaths from coronavirus-related illness over the weekend.
The total number of cases in Whatcom County rose to 289 while the number of deaths remains at 27.
The number of confirmed local cases is drastically lower than the peak of late March and early April.
But statistics from the health department show new cases have been confirmed at a relatively stable rate recently, with 12 this past week and 15 the week before.
The state Department of Health reports just over 13,500 cases and 749 deaths statewide as of Sunday afternoon.
