Health Department says call before going to doctor when chicken pox suspected

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – If you think you or a family member has the chicken pox or shingles, the Whatcom County Health Department has a message for you: call before heading in to the doctor, clinic, or emergency room.

The Department says this is a precaution to prevent the spread of the virus, in light of a recent uptick in reported infections in the county.
