SEATTLE, Wash. — Western Washington is about to experience the first big storm of the season.

Officials from the National Weather Service in Seattle expect heavy rain and wind in the region over the next several days, and that could cause some localized power outages and rising river levels.

San Juan County and western Whatcom and Skagit County are under a wind advisory from 8 AM – 5 PM Wednesday with wind gusts in the 40s possible.

They say there’s even a chance of dangerous lightning activity on Friday.
